When Will It End?

Have you ever wondered about the things going on in the world today? I hate to say this, but most people don't. Unless it hits too close to home we just don't seem to care. But when it does, we go on a rampage to let everyone know just how offended we are.

Take the Supreme Court Nomination of Brett Kavanaugh and the back lash it caused. Were the accusations real or just another attack against the Republican Party and President Trump. Before you get your panties in a wad, I am neither a Republican or a Democrat. I'm the outsider. The Independent. Not a member of the Independent Party. (Although I did check them out) I just vote for who I believe will get the job done.

Dr. Christine Blasely Ford accused Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault. An assault that happened in 1982. That he "Pinned her to a bed, groped her and attempted to pull her clothes off". This while they were both high school students. Did he?

Then we heard a second accusation of sexual assault from Deborah Ramirez. She claims Kavanaugh exposed himself and pushed his genitals into her face at a drunken party during the 1983-84 academic year at Yale University. Did he?

Keith Koegler said Ford revealed the alleged assault to him in 2016, when the two parents were watching their children play in a public place and discussing the “light” sentencing of Stanford University student Brock Turner. Why would any one tell someone they sexually assaulted a woman?

Russell Ford, husband of Christine Blasely Ford, said “However, in the end she believed her civic duty required her to speak out. In our 16 years of marriage, I have always known Christine to be truthful person of great integrity. I am proud of her for her bravery and courage.” No one is perfect and I have never met anyone who never lied.

And the list of those standing behind Ford goes on.

From what we have heard, Ford was a party girl. Not adverse to drinking and doing recreational drugs. A wild child in her day. To me, this is heresay. I haven't seen any proof of this. So I take it with a grain of salt. Anyone who may not have liked her in high school could just as easily used this to discredit her.

But at the same time, how can we credit the allegations she has landed at Kavanaugh's door? 1982 was a long time ago. If he did indeed assault her, why didn't she tell her parents? The police? A school counselor? Where is the police report? Why wait until now?

And in the case of Deborah Ramirez, why now?

And why is it that everyone we have seen or heard about who backs her story up is a Democrat with a hard on for getting rid of Trump?

I can not say he did or did not assault these women. I wasn't there. You were not there. Only they know for sure. But to come forward now is not doing any assault victim any good. It actually hurts those who have been assaulted. It doesn't help us. And, yes, I said us. I was sexually assaulted.

The way I see it, by coming forward now they have actually made things worse. If we want to be believed we can't wait 20 to 30 years later. We have to act when the assault happens. If that means forcing the authorities to act, then that's what we do.

As to the woman chatting to another in an elevator after the hearing is quoted to have said "Don't you think she's doing a good job speaking for all of us?" My answer is this.

Lady, she isn't and hasn't done a good job speaking for all of us. She toed the party line and tried to discredit a man with no proof what so ever. Only her word it happened. Now those of us who might be assaulted in the future, who will we get to listen to us? Who will believe us?

And worst of all, how many women will now use this to discredit and defame men who piss them off? How many young men and boys will be accused by an ex-girlfriend or ex-wife? How many of these women will expect us to believe them without proof?

     When will it end?
