Migrant Caravan Continues North, Defying Mexico and U.S.
Migrant caravan resumes march north from Mexico-Guatemala border.
Pictures posted showing food stamps being given to those in migrant caravan.
Pictures posted showing " migrants" waving flags of the country they are fleeing from.
The last time I checked, flying a flag of another country while trying to enter it was considered an act of war.
Why, as a country, are we required to take in every Tom, Dick, Harry and Maria that demands entrance? Why, as citizens of this country, are we required to foot the bills for their anchor babies? Their food stamps? Medical bills? Housing bills? How many times do we have to watch as the mother spends hundreds of dollars in food stamps one minute and pull out a fist full of hundreds to pay for everything else? Either the husband is doing something illegal or holding a job that pays under the table.
And please don't preach at me that I don't know what I'm talking about. In my job I see it every day. They come in and buy junk food. Pay for it with food stamps. Can't speak a word of English and have to have their child translate for them. And at the bottom of their receipt is the total of whats left over of their food stamps. A total that runs between $300 and $700 dollars.
And a senior citizen on Social Security is lucky to receive $15 to $100 a month. While carrying the load for rent, utilities, insurance, gas, transportation (when they can afford a vehicle), medical and medicines.
Children go to bed hungry because their parents make too much money. Too much? Both parents working. Single mothers or fathers working. Not able to make enough money to provide healthy foods for their children, but making too much to get food stamps.
The disabled on SSI generally make between $700 and $800 a month. So lets break it down covering only basics.
Rent (If you want a decent house or apartment) $900 & up monthly
Utilities $100 & up monthly
Insurance (auto) $80 & up monthly
Gas (auto, basic travel in town, no emergencies) $20 & up weekly, $80 monthly
Keep in mind that in an apartment you usually pay only electric.
So for the basics, you'll be paying approximately $1,160 a month.
Sure, there are cheaper places to live. Termite riddle, bug infested. Slums. Close to falling in on your head. Areas saturated in drug use and sales. Just the type of places you dreamed of raising your children. Spending the "Twilight Years" of your life.
Public housing? Anyone who has ever had to live in public housing will tell you the same. They go by how much money you make. And they do their best to take as much as they can of that. So how much better off are those who have no choice but to live there?
A citizen of this country who works for $9 an hour makes, before taxes, approximately $360. After taxes approximately $230. It depends on what state you live in, but we'll go with that. So after taxes They will have made about $921 a month. Still doesn't add up to $1,160. That and no health insurance taken out. That would be around another $120 a month out of their check. If they don't have the insurance, they are penalized at income tax time.
An illegal Immigrant makes the same $9 an hour. He pays no taxes. But his wife or significant other is collecting food stamps, WIC for the anchor babies they are having in this country. They drive better cars and live in better houses. They have too many people living in the house. But that keeps the bills down because so many adults are helping pay them. And the wives are all getting assistance, so they eat way better that the man or woman who is a citizen and is paying not only their bills, but their tax money is supporting the illegals.
And people wonder why we do not want them here.
